Motörhead were an English heavy metal band from London. Formed in , the group originally featured former Hawkwind bassist and vocalist Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, former Pink Fairies guitarist and vocalist Larry Wallis, and drummer Lucas Fox. The band went through several lineup changes, before settling on its final incarnation of Lemmy, guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee in Motörhead disbanded upon Lemmy's death on 28 December
History

[edit]Bassist and vocalist Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister was sacked from space rock group Hawkwind in May , after he was arrested for suspected possession of cocaine (later determined to be amphetamines) during a North American concert tour.[1] After moving back to London, Lemmy quickly formed Motörhead (named after the final song he wrote for Hawkwind) with guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox.[2] By December, Fox had been replaced by Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor after his performances had been deemed "unreliable" during early recording sessions.[3] Taylor re-recorded all songs the band

Micael Kiriakos Delaoglou (born 31 October ), known professionally as Mikkey Dee, is a Swedish musician, who has played drums for German heavy metall band Scorpions since He was the drummer for English heavy metal grupp Motörhead (for which he is still best known to this day) from until and has played with other artists including King Diamond, Helloween and Don Dokken.
Early life and influences
[edit]Dee was born in Gothenburg, Sweden to a Greek father and a Swedish mother. He began his musical career with local bands Nadir and Geisha. His main influences include Neil Peart, Brian Downey, Buddy rik, Steve Smith and especially Ian Paice.[1]

[edit]Having moved to Copenhagen, Denmark to play with Geisha,[1] Dee joined King Diamond in He played on the King Diamond recordings Fatal Portrait (), Abigail () and Them (). King Diamond himself was becoming ganska popular and the musicians backing him were taking a secondary role in the writing and decision making. After the completion of the supporting tour for Them, he decided to leave the grupp as he felt that he was
